New Years Resolution: Experience memorable moments in the mountains

2 January 2018

Everest Base Camp New Years Resolution

How do you set your new years resolution?

Every year do you say to yourself; I am going to eat healthier, get fitter, save more, stop drinking alcohol? If so you are not alone, these resolutions are the most common people enforce on ones self but they rarely achieve them, routine kicks in and old habits creep back into effect.

This is because you need a goal and not just a phrase.

A goal means you set a target to achieve, you plan for it and you commit your mind body and soul to achieve it.

Here is a new years resolution put together by Experience Earth to get you started:

“This year I want to get fitter, healthier, lose weight and get more in touch with the outdoors. To achieve this, I want to trek to Everest Base Camp in the Himalayas in April 2018 - I want to experience memorable moments in the mountains”

To break this down:

The resolution:                    To get fitter, healthier, lose weight and get more in touch with the outdoors.

The goal:                              To trek to Everest Base Camp in the Himalayas in April 2018

The appetiser:                      To experience memorable moments in the mountains.

Once the resolution is set all you have to do is:

  • Commit
  • Plan your training programme
  • Prepare your equipment
  • Go!
